Community Kids Fellowship – The Development & Outreach Missions arm of APCI is doing very well with the Community Kids Fellowship, where Kids come for weekly meetings – rain or cold weather doesn’t deter these wonderful kids from enjoying their fellowship. The Community Kids Fellowship is our own ‘Nursery’. Under the Lord’s guidance we raise and nurture children to know God and grow in Him. We have over fifty kids presently where we share fellowship and model God’s love.
The kids are experiencing much love from Blessing; who models a life of love to them, teaching them of God’s love and how we too need to show our love for Him through loving our neighbors, as we love our selves. Other teachings that characterize their weekly meetings is learning obedience to God and to our parents which we believe will ultimately impact positively our entire society. We also teach them the Books of the Bible, memorizing and committing to heart the central message of the Bible – love for God and mankind.
We also teach moral and societal values to these children. It is indeed true of an African saying that, “It’s easier to prepare the young than to repair the old”. These kids are indeed the hope and future for the Africa continent in the agenda of God; and we seek to pursue and realize this agenda with Community Kids Fellowship.
The Development & Outreach Missions (D&O)- has also identified some basic challenges with our needy kids through our interaction with them, especially with their parents or guardians. These children come from very poor and vulnerable situations. Most parents are living without paid employment. Some are single mothers (fathers deceased or have deserted their families). Challenges range from lack of basic food, clothing, and education. By God’s grace and provision, food and clothing items are being donated. We would like to do more to help our needy kids feel that they are people of great value and significance.
